This book was great! Shailee Thompson starts out with a slasher movie fanatic main character, Jaime, and her best friend Laurie. It seems that they are just going on a speed date night in the city, but in the middle of the dating rounds, the night turns from a semi-romcom to a full-on slasher horror novel with romantic sprinkles throughout. I felt like Shailee paced this book perfectly. The chapters were long enough to build some tension throughout the scenes, but short enough to keep the story progressing nicely and keep you guessing as to who the culprit of this gruesome night may be.
I think this could have a broad appeal, from lovers of thrillers, horror, maybe even romance. I’d say give it a shot! Hopefully others enjoy it as much as I did!
